Education plays a key role in the overall development of a society. The true goal of education transcends much beyond just awarding degrees and certificates to the students. The quest of education is knowledge and wisdom. The knowledge and wisdom leads to the discovery of the meaning of life which is the ultimate goal of education. Pertinent to mention here that due to COVID 19 pandemic, the conventional mode of learning was disrupted forcing educational institutions to shift to online mode of learning. I hope and pray that from this academic season, normal offline class work will resume without any disruption. I firmly believe that our institution Govt Degree College Beerwah is more than just a place to learn. It gives you everything you need to grow and prosper in life .We are going to start honors courses in some science and Arts subjects from 2022 academic session as a part of New Education Policy 2020.I take this opportunity to state that our institution is on a progressive path in terms of updating and developing the infrastructure. The college was granted a browsing centre on which the work is going on and shall be inaugurated very soon. Digital boards have been installed, three new classroom huts have been built which are already operational. A solar power plant also stands installed. Not only this, we have procured a college bus which I hope will come as a great relief to students coming from far off places. Work on library block is in full swing and the work on parking and multipurpose hall. In addition to this, our institution offered two skill courses: Mobile repairing and cutting and tailoring successfully under the aegis of skill development Council of India. Also pertinent to say that our college has been allotted IGNOU study centre and NCC wing.
I would like o express my thanks to all the faculty, ministerial staff, College local fund staff and civil society for their support and collaboration for the development of this institution.
